As soon as I was seventeen years old I got my provisional driving lice

As soon as I was seventeen years old I got my provisional driving license from the dsa. I looked in the Yellow Pages to find a suitable school to take driving lessons with. I worked on Saturdays and in the week went to school. I didn't have all that much money to take driving lessons so finding the cheapest school was important to me.
I found a school that offered 10 driving lessons for £100. So I rang up the school and booked my first ten lessons. I got the driving instructor to come out to me at the end of school every Thursday. I had got on really well by the time I reached the end of the first 10 lessons. After that the price went up to £14 for each of the extra driving lessons that I needed to have.
My mum was out shopping one Saturday when she noticed some books about learning to drive a car. She bought me a Highway Code and a book about learning the material necessary for passing the theory test. So every evening I got on my dad's computer to revise those facts until I knew it all. I passed my theory test with flying colours. I booked my practical test for 10 May and I felt really nervous leading up to that date.
My practical test got off to a really great start but then I didn't do well enough backing around the corner. In that I had mounted the pavement. I was so sad when I was told my the examiner that I had failed my test. I looked on the Internet and it was 8 weeks before I could get another test date.
Over the May bank holiday I had my eighteenth birthday and I got a cheque from my Aunt Melba for ten thousand pounds. I was over the moon and I spent a little bit of the money having some more driving lessons to get up to scratch for the next test date. I felt really nervous on the morning of my second practical driving test. My turn in the road went superbly, my backing around a sharp corner went surprisingly. I was so delighted when the examiner told me that I had passed my driving test.
When I got home my parents were over the moon with happiness that I had passed my driving test. My dad took me to a second hand garage to choose a car. He knew that I had just over nine thousand pounds left. My dad tried to get me to have a safe looking almost new car with five doors but I had other ideas. In the garage I noticed a classic car that looked far more my cup of tea. I told dad that was the one I wanted. He wasn't keen at first but eventually he came round to understanding my point of view. I became the proud owner of the classic car and I was the envy of all my friends.
