Jay was feeling very bored; he had to go for his driving lesson again. The lessons are really tedious. First there are the rules and regulations which he could read from a book or the internet, and then the basics of driving. These are so simple – since he was a little boy, he had been watching his parents drive. He knew more than the driving schools. In fact, he had often driven his grandad’s car in the suburbs whenever he visits them during the school breaks, and there had not been any untoward incidents.

Jay’s driving test is scheduled for next month – he felt really miserable. Why couldn'tlessons be more practical and fun? It is the world of technology and robotics now; they should have incorporated high-tech facilities and techniques in the driving lessons, instead of having these books and online lessons – with lots of words! It is a wonder if he could pass his driving test.

If only they would employ robots to conduct the lectures or even replace those tiresome driving instructors. At least they would have more young drivers enrolled, instead of just the few of them. Maybe they should segregate the classes – for the older people and the young drivers. If they include simulated scenarios and virtual driving sessions, the lessons would be very exciting, as if in a games arcade.

The learner driver would pay more attention and understand better if they could go through the virtual experience of driving a car. Whatever errors and mistakes they made, can be corrected in the sessions; thus preparing them for actual driving on the road. These stimulations could help nervous drivers who fear real traffic conditions and help them overcome panic on the roads. Not to mention, the number of students who pass the driving test will definitely increase.

If lessons are like this, Jay thought, the driving schools would certainly have an avalanche of new enrolments. This would appeal to young drivers and some of the older people, as knowledgeis retained better through experiential learning. He would look forward to the lessons each week, instead of trying to get out of them; and he would pass his driving test without a doubt.
