I remember when I was younger and learning to drive my parents wanted me tolearn how to drive with a driving instructor. They did their research on some local driving instructors that were recommended through theschool. I was a little defensive about this since I already had taken some classes at night each week with a group of other kidsto learn about the basics of driving. I did pass that class and didn't really think I needed some other types of classes. So being the defensive teenager that I was I agreed to have the instructor come to our house a few times a week to help teach me to drive.

I remember when he first took me on the highway the very first day of my lesson. I was a bit defensive about this since I wasn't sure that I was ready for being on the highway. He said that I was definitely ready. I did pretty well although I had a bit of a hard time learning how to keep the speed under control while also trying to stay between the lines on the highway. By the end of that first lesson I had been a nervous wreck. I didn't need to be though because he assured me that I did very well for my first lesson. He was a really good instructor but at times Ifound myself getting defensive with him and even have some doubts that I would even pass his class. After each lesson it got easier and easier for me to drive.

When it came time for me to take my driving exam I was a bit nervous. The driving instructor wasn't very friendly. In the end though I wound up passing my exam with flying colors. I'm still grateful to this day for my parents making me take those driving classes since I did pass all of my driving tests back then. I guess it just goes to show you that our parents really do have our best interests and they really know what is really best for us.
