A group of us decided to go into business together. It was something we'd discussed many a time down the years. We even skipped a few lessons of subjects we weren't interested in to meet and discuss strategy.Schools OK but it's kind of like rubbish skip hire in that you won't need it all the time - if at all. We were all quite bright and we all had ideas for the road ahead.I acted as the instructor of sorts.
I was the most vocal so I organized the times we'd meet and introduced most of the topics we would discuss. I'm sure none of the schools would accept an instructor who held lessons behind the bike shed as professional but it was OK because we were focused. It was a quiet spot where we felt safe enough. I was the instructor, I would often say with a certain degree of pride. Our lessons were quite serious, perhaps not on the level a typical schools would be.
None the less I remember being very happy with how everyone chipped in.Being asked to be the teacher or instructor gave me so much confidence because I knew that they had confidence in me. That level of trust feels amazing and I think it played a big part in my current role.I was a marketing manager for our business. It was still in it's early stages but we felt confident we knew what lay ahead. It was fulfilling to know that we hadn't wasted our time and that we'd got this far.
Sure, there was a long way to go but the confidence had spread like an infection into one another and it was almost natural. We did have our ups and down as we progressed. It's life though isn't it? The way we have to ride the wave and the way we must fight to stay on trackThe one thing I always appreciated was being surrounded by like minded people but more important then that. It was being in the knowledge I was surrounded by friends. It made going into work so much fun - even if it was still work.
